AMD Embedded G-Series SOC: Enabling Embedded Innovation
Introducing the Newest Member of the G-Series SOC Family: GX-210JA
- +
AMD Embedded G-Series SOC Die ShotAMD is pleased to announce a new low-power offering in the AMD G-Series SOC family with the GX-210JA in a drive to further reduce x86 power requirements for embedded designs. The new GX-210JA uses one-third less energy than the previous low-power Embedded G-Series SOC product while providing industry-leading graphics capabilities. At only 6W maximum TDP, and 3W expected average power, this new member of the G-Series SOC family will enable additional fan-less designs for a variety of applications ranging from industrial controls and automation, digital gaming, communications infrastructure and visual embedded products including thin client, digital signage and medical imaging.

    CCSA workshop has been formed to promote research and development
    activities focused on enabling and scaling scientific applications using
    distributed computing paradigms, such as cluster, Grid, and Cloud
    Computing. With the rapid emergence of virtualized environments for
    accessing software systems and solutions, the volume of users and their
    data are growing exponentially. According to the IDC, by 2020, when the
    ICT industry reaches $5 billion - $1.7 billion larger than it is today -
    at least 80% of the industry's growth will driven by 3rd platform
    technologies, such as cloud services and big data analytics.

    Existing computing infrastructure, software system designs, and use
    cases will have to take into account the enormity in volume of requests,
    size of data, computing load, locality and type of users, and every
    growing needs of all applications.

    Cloud computing promises reliable services delivered through
    next-generation data centers that are built on compute and storage
    virtualization technologies. Users will be able to access applications
    and data from a Cloud anywhere in the world on demand. In other words,
    the Cloud appears to be a single point of access for all the computing
    needs of users. The users are assured that the Cloud infrastructure is
    robust and will always be available at any time.

    To address the growing needs of both applications and Cloud computing
    paradigm, CCSA brings together researchers and practitioners from around
    the world to share their experiences, to focus on modeling, executing,
    and monitoring scientific applications on Clouds.

    In this workshop, we are interested in receiving innovative work on
    enabling and scaling computing systems to support the execution of
    scientific applications. The target audience include researchers and
    industry practitioners who are interested in distributed systems,
    particularly focusing on scaling of applications using Cloud computing.

    High-performance computing simulations and large scientific experiments
    generate tens of terabytes of data, and these data sizes grow each year.
    Existing systems for storing, managing, and analyzing data are being
    pushed to their limits by these applications, and new techniques are
    necessary to enable efficient data processing for future simulations and
    experiments.

    This workshop will provide a forum for engineers and scientists to
    present and discuss their most recent work related to the storage,
    management, and analysis of data for scientific workloads. Emphasis will
    be placed on forward-looking approaches to tackle the challenges of
    storage at extreme scale or to provide better abstractions for use in
    scientific workloads.

    Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

     * parallel file systems
     * scientific databases
     * active storage
